What happens if a channel or talk group on an encrypted system is patched to a channel or talk group on a non-encrypted (clear) system?
Within the IO network (from the RG-U on one system, through the network, to the RG-U on another system) all transmissions are encrypted. The network does not, however, change the characteristics of local radio systems and their over-the-air transmissions. In this case, all users involved in such a patch need to be notified that some users in the patch are in the clear (non-encrypted).
