Maximizing Use of the New Channels
First responder radios need to be programmed for the channels in their frequency band if this has not yet been done. No information is available as to the scope of this work.
The new channels will be added to the interoperability network. Building on established practice, local dispatch centers will host the interfacing of the new channels to the interoperability network and monitor transmissions. Depending on the number of available ports on the Radio Gateway Units (RGUs), additional RGUs may be required. Local phone lines will connect each new station to the local dispatch center.
